Nistowiak Falls and Churchill River
North central Saskatchewan
There’s no denying the lure of a waterfall. For fans of spray and thunder, a spectacular blast is worth the journey — especially in Saskatchewan, where infinite horizons abound. But drive north to Lac La Ronge Provincial Park, and you will find Nistowiak Falls, a magnificent 10-m cascade that ranks as one of the highest in the province. Getting there requires commitment — and a boat, canoe or float plane. From the town of Stanley Mission, the falls are about 20 km east along the Churchill River. In the autumn, the Canadian Shield corridor transforms into a masterpiece of fiery foliage. When it’s accompanied by a roaring water show, it’s a treat for all the senses. — Dick Snyder

Saskatchewan Roughriders CAA Member Offer
Touchdown! There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere of a home game of the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium. Rider Nation knows the score: it’s called Rider Pride. The 33,000-seat stadium is a sea of fans in green and white jerseys — some in helmets carved from watermelons — creating a thunderous roar in support of the home team. And now CAA has teamed up with the Roughriders to deliver exclusive savings for Members on home-game tickets for the 2026 season. For some games, it’s a 25% discount on the original ticket price! Now that’s even better than a pick-six. — Sean Deasy
