A MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR
Summer On the Move: Savings, Safety and Simple Summer Getaways

Christian Braid Chair of the Board, CAA Saskatchewan
Summer in Saskatchewan always brings a sense of possibility. The prairie sky stays light late into the evening, and those extra hours seem to invite spontaneous road trips, weekends at the lake and the simple pleasure of heading out with the windows down just because the weather’s right. In our house, it often means packing up the snacks, topping up the tank and getting out of the city with my young family to explore a little more of this beautiful province. It’s about the easy moments that don’t take much planning — just a full tank of gas and good company.
If you’ve done much driving lately, you’ve probably felt it: fuel costs and travel expenses can add up fast. One of the ways we at CAA try to help — quietly, in the background — is by offering practical savings that fit naturally into your routine. A great example is fuel savings at participating Shell stations. CAA Members save 3 cents per litre every time they fuel up at participating Shell stations, plus 10% off in-store products and car washes.
With highways getting busier this time of year, it’s also a good time to look out for one another. A little prep — checking tires, packing a few essentials and planning rest stops — can make a big difference on longer drives. And when you see tow truck operators, emergency responders or construction crews at work, slowing down to 60 km/h isn’t just the law — it’s a way we all help everyone get home safely. That’s what Slow Down Move Over is all about — and why CAA is proud to champion it. And if plans don’t unfold the way you hoped, our roadside, insurance and travel teams are here to help you get moving again.
We also hear from Members that savings matter — especially in seasons where plans can fill the calendar (and empty the gas tank). CAA Rewards is a simple way to stretch your dollars on things you’re already doing: dining out, filling up, shopping locally, streaming your favourite shows or even catching a Saskatchewan Roughriders game. It’s not about changing how you live — just adding a little extra value along the way. Thank you for choosing CAA and for letting us be part of the everyday trips and summer getaways that matter most.
Should your plans take you farther from home, CAA Travel can help with the details. Whether it’s a family vacation, a quick weekend trip or a long-anticipated getaway, our travel team can take some of the stress out of planning, so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
Of course, summer adventures don’t always happen with just the car. From RVs and boats to trailers and bikes, it’s the extra vehicles and gear that help make those weekends happen. CAA Insurance can help Members protect what matters, so it’s easier to kick back and enjoy the ride — whether you’re headed down the highway or out to the lake.
If you travel by RV, the right CAA Membership can make a real difference when you’re a long way from home. Our Plus and Premier RV memberships offer expanded roadside assistance designed with larger vehicles in mind, so a breakdown or flat tire doesn’t derail the whole trip.
At its heart, summer in Saskatchewan is about enjoying the journey — getting where you’re going safely, making your budget work and spending time with the people and places you care about most. I hope you find plenty of those little moments that make summer so good — whether it’s a quick evening drive, a weekend at the lake or a longer trip you’ve been looking forward to. And if you need us along the way, we’re proud to be there when it counts. Thanks again for being part of CAA Saskatchewan, and have a safe, relaxed and memorable summer.
Warm regards,
