Beaver Creek Conservation Area
Calling all early birds — the Birding Breakfast at Beaver Creek Conservation Area, 13 kilometres south of Saskatoon, is an idyllic way to start a spring day. A Meewasin Valley Authority guide leads small groups on a meditative stroll to identify and track resident birds, as well as migratory birds that might be passing through. Back at the interpretive centre, sustainably sourced coffee from a local roastery and a specially catered breakfast box await. All proceeds support Meewasin’s conservation and education programs.

Nipekamew Sand Cliffs
Head four hours north of Saskatoon, put the car in park and make your way through this three-kilometre out-and-back trail to spot surreal sandstone formations dating back to more than 120 million years ago. Hike through mature jack pine and spruce trees to reach the riverbank, where you’ll find epic views of the main attraction — towering sand pillars eroded into cliffs along the rushing waters of the Nipekamew River.
