Flat tires don’t last long on our watch. | PHOTO: ALEXLUCRU123/ENVATO

Rescue in the deep freeze

Huge shoutout to Regina Fleet Tow Truck Operator Aden Shiekdon. During Saskatchewan’s recent cold snap, we were stranded on a rural road with drifts filling the ditches and the road blown over. Our truck got hung up in deep snow, so a friend picked us up while CAA arranged a rescue for the next morning. Just before noon, we met Aden at the truck. He arrived cheerful, explained the plan and told us how to help. With the wind chill in Pilot Butte near -48°C, his professionalism and positivity stood out. After a few winch adjustments, the truck was quickly freed. Service with a smile, no matter the weather, and we were very glad our membership was set to auto-renew. Thank you, Aden! –Brit and Brandon B.

Flat tire, fast help

Travelling has always been an important part of my life, and I take several trips each year with my son. Last year, driving home from his Saskatoon soccer tournament, we got a flat shortly after dropping a friend off at Alice Beach. It took us over an hour to free the spare from under my truck, and freezing rain started just as we finished. The next week, colleagues teased me for not having CAA, so I joined that day. Until recently, I hadn’t needed it. On November 12, during an evening shift, my app warned of low tire pressure, and I found a completely flat tire. I called CAA, and within 30 minutes, an operator arrived, changed the tire and had me back on the road in 15 minutes. A CAA membership is now non-negotiable. Thanks, CAA! –Lori B.

CAA made my day easier

In CAA’s own words, “Every time CAA ever helped you/me out of a tough spot — maybe a winter roadside rescue, travel support when plans went sideways, or a moment when our team simply made your day easier.” CAA made my day easier, better, delightful! That’s exactly why I have CAA. –Terry B.

Outstanding service in Saskatoon I am from Regina, but I was transferred to Leeanne Morrison, CAA Insurance Consultant at the Saskatoon Store. She was patient, knowledgeable and thorough, and I am happy that CAA has such a quality person working for them. –Don H.
